About

Denise Graves

Denise Graves is Worship Pastor at Covenant Church of Pittsburgh, a multi-cultural congregation located east of the city where Bishop Joseph Garlington presides as Senior Pastor.

She is a speaker, lead worshiper/songwriter who has traveled extensively with Worship International (Integrity), as well as Maranatha Music, and Saddleback Church (The Purpose Driven Church), leading Worship Leader Workshops across the country.

Denise has also written for Maranatha Music and has had material recorded for “The Best of Promise Keepers” projects as well as other Maranatha projects. Her recording of “Send Me” can be found on the Purpose Driven Life CD accompanying Rick Warren’s book, “The Purpose Driven Life.”

Denise has written for Worship Leader Magazine and worked alongside the Regent University’s Director of Worship teaching worship workshops for their School of Divinity.

She is an activist using the tool of worship to evangelize. Working with her mentees, they have raised funds over the past decade to distribute 14,000 backpacks to underprivileged children, led worship for and continue to feed the homeless of Pittsburgh, as well as provide Christmas to local orphanages that house horrifically abused kids.

Denise has named her latest project, “Extravagant Love Makeover” ministering to 150 Pittsburgh women who live in abused/homeless women’s shelters, giving them a full makeover and evening gala which includes a lavish sit-down dinner with gifts, worship and ministry. This event started with 70 women in 2012 and has doubled in size in 2013 as she partnered with local churches to serve Pittsburgh shelters.

Denise’s motto is, “Worship should always lead to evangelism, and evangelism should always lead you to worship!”

In the past 2 years, Denise has expanded her ministry to include consulting, mentoring and coaching. She believes in cross cultural as well as cross-generational ministry and the philosophy that as Psalm 78 states, “one generation tells another of the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord.

Denise is mom to her 21-year old daughter, Dani.
